Start with the details of a pick
A pick is a sports prediction. It can contain one selection (a single) or several selections together (a parlay). In Tipsterline, each pick counts once in the record.
Odds
The number used to calculate profit if a pick wins. This guide uses decimal odds, such as 1.80 or 2.00.
Stake or units
The units assigned to a pick. For example, 2u means twice the stake of 1u. It is not a cash balance held in Tipsterline.
Result
A pick can be pending, won, lost or void. Pending means no final result has been recorded yet.
One example, from start to finish
Imagine these five picks, each with a stake of 1u. They are fictional examples to explain the calculation, not a tipster’s results.

There are 5 picks in total, but only 3 enter the performance calculations: the 2 winners and the loss. The pending and void picks stay in the record, but do not affect win rate, ROI or averages.
What each statistic tells you
Win rate · the share of picks won
Of the picks that won or lost, how many won? In the example, 2 out of 3: 66.7%. It does not tell you how much profit was made.
Profit · units gained or lost
Add the gains and subtract the losses. In the example: +0.80u − 1u + 1u = +0.80u. A negative number would mean a loss.
ROI and yield · return on recorded stake
On Tipsterline, these are the same percentage. They compare profit with the units of won and lost picks. In the example: 0.80u ÷ 3u × 100 = 26.67%.
Average odds and stake
The averages of the odds and units of won and lost picks. Pending and void picks are excluded.
To check the calculation
Won: stake × (odds − 1) · Lost: −stake
A winning 1u pick at odds of 1.80 makes +0.80u profit. Profit does not include the returned initial unit.
If there are no won or lost picks yet, the metrics show zero. Always check the number of results behind them.
What happens when a selection is void
A single pick uses its recorded odds. A parlay’s total odds are the product of its selections’ odds.
When the tipster records a selection as void, the app recalculates the parlay without that selection. The result screen is for marking results, not entering new odds.
If all selections are void, the pick is void. If any selection loses, the parlay loses. To win, every non-void selection must win.
Published odds
1.80 × 2.00 = 3.60
The 2.00 selection is void

If the remaining selection wins, a 1u stake makes +0.80u profit. The app recalculates the odds from the selection results.
Who records the result
The tipster records whether a pick won, lost or was void. Tipsterline calculates profit and statistics from that result. The calculation is automatic; checking the sports score is not.
For parlays, the tipster records the result of each selection and the app determines the overall result.
See an incorrect result?
If you have access to the pick, you can report it for review. The author can submit a clarification. Tipsters cannot directly change a final result; corrections go through review and are recorded.
When editing or deletion is available
Editing a pick
The pick must be pending, within the editing window, without buyers, and before any of its events’ recorded start times.
Deleting a pick
The pick must be free, pending and within the deletion window, before its events’ recorded start times. Tipsters cannot delete their paid picks.
Editing and deletion have different time limits. Check the options available in the app: the limits depend on the current settings. Recording a result is a different action from editing a pick’s details.
Read the record in context
Compare the same period
Profile filters use the publication date of picks. One week and the entire record are different samples.
Group picks count too
A tipster’s figures include their group picks, including premium groups. This does not open the group content: viewing it requires the corresponding access.
Your personal record is separate
When copying a pick, you can enter your own stake and odds. That record does not change the published pick or its author’s statistics.
Profile figures describe picks recorded in Tipsterline, not every bet a person places elsewhere. They also do not deduct what a follower paid for content.
Before assessing a percentage, check how many picks support it, which are still pending and the period you are viewing. Past results do not guarantee future results.
